Welcome 3/23/2011

Welcome to our remodeled business website. We’re still working on it; but it’s a lot of fun. Yes, we are using one of our Econoweb for this. Contact us and we’ll tell you more.

All of the old blogs aren’t moved over yet. If you want the old blog entries, go to http://www.netadventures.biz/wordpress/.

We also plan to add more pics and do other cool stuff.
Carl also has a ministry site at http://www.creatingnewwords.org. Visit that sometime.

Send us comments on what you’d like to see.

Welcome!

Welcome!
Welcome to the new version of Carl’s netadventures.biz. There is still work ahead.

Here are a few tips here for navigating the new site. The top bar of the menu bar will take you into the different static pages of the web site. The bottom part of the menu bar is the entry for the blog with the menu items representing some of the blog categories. In the side bar for each of the site’s pages you will find a drop-down entry for an even longer list of categories. At the moment there are only a few posts. We’ll be expanding this in the weeks ahead.

If you wish to enter the old blog with a much longer list of posts, you can use http://www.netadventures.biz/wordpress/. We’ll be moving these old posts over with time to the new blog on the home page.

This entire site is an Econoweb site and done in about a week. Enjoy. We can get you going with one if you really want to do the web right.

Who lost ranking with the latest Google algorithm change?

Google recently did a major algorithm change (called “Farmer” change). The purpose was to improve the quality of search results. The big losers in rankings were sites such as business.com (a directory-type site), ezarticles.com, and related sites. In other words, if you were basing your results on links from these sites, you probably dropped in position of the results. To see more specific who got hit, see http://searchengineland.com/who-lost-in-googles-farmer-algorithm-change-66173

No Secrets

Certain web sites are now providing personal information on YOU including private information (such as your credit card info). They do this by, among other things, farming data into their database from multiple social networks and other sources. One such site is http://www.SPOKEO.COM. Try it out – enter your name and see what info is there on you. Since this is illegal and the current administration has no interest in protecting your personal data, we suggest you hackers out there that are running the white bot nets take these jokers down.

To remove your own listing from SPOKEO, first search the site on your name. Then copy the URL to your clipboard. Go down to the bottom of the page and click the Primacy option. Paste your URL from the Clipboard to the text box there and follow the directions. Better check again occasionally.

Remember that some social networks, such as Facebook, run with NO secrecy. This includes the various games on this site. ANY information you put there (including credit card info) is not secure.
